In 1974 Mr. Bagdonas graduated from the Stasys Šimkus Music School in Klaipėda, later acquired two specialities at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre – that of a Chorus Master (1983, class of prof. P. Gylys) and Opera Soloist (1999, class of prof. E. Kaniava). He made his debut at the LNOBT in 1991, and has been the soloist with the company since 1992, creating almost 40 roles here.
In 1990 he became a laureate of International Competition in Latvia and 1992 in Czech.
He has an extensive concert repertoire of chamber pieces, oratorios and masses from Č. Sasnauskas, G. Verdi, R. Schumann, J. Kačinskas, G. Rossini, V. Bellini, J. Haydn, J. S. Bach, L. van Beethoven, F. Schubert , E. Chalmey etc. Mr. Bagdonas has recorded a CD that includes diverse repertoire, ranging from opera, folk songs, original songs to romances and popular songs.
From 1996 to 2010 V. Bagdonas was teaching the art of vocal performance at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre.
Mr. Bagdonas is often collaborating with State choir “Vilnius”, performing solo parts during the concerts of this collective. Vladas Bagdonas has performed in Germany, Denmark, Holland, Spain, Czech, Poland, United Kingdom and other countries.
